New Seating Arrangment

Since we passed court last week, the preparations for "Operation Bring the Kids Home" have officially started. I've started washing their clothes, making lists of what I'll be taking to Ethiopia, and sorting and organizing at the house. Although I will be a single mom, I'm not the only one who will be "adjusting" to the new little cohabitants. Wrigley and Harry have officially started the new seating arrangement in the car. For those of you who have dogs, you understand why this is a "blog worthy" topic.

Nothing makes Wrigley happier than going "bye-bye." He leaps into the backseat of the car and assumes his seated position. He is observant, interested, and happy for the whole trip . . . .whether it is 20 minutes or 8 hours (yes, he road to Tulsa, OK). Harry loves whatever Wrigley is doing, so he's enthusiastic about the "bye-bye" command, but then lies down and stares at the floor the whole trip (perhaps a little motion sickness issue). Both dogs like to "check-in" with me on occasion (meaning a little lick to the ear) throughout any trip.

When the kids get home, the car seat and booster seat will have to go into the backseat. In preparation, the dogs have to relocate to the rear storage area of the Rav 4. We made our 1st trip with the new seating arrangement this morning. The dogs ran to the car and stood by the back door on the driver's side. . .same as always. When I went to the back of the car and opening the big door, they looked a little confused, but weren't about to miss the trip.

All in all, it went well, and I think we'll be good to go when the kids get here. The good news for the dogs, the kids should have some really yummy tastes for doggies' enjoyment!
